Being a previous Landlord of the Four Horseshoes I am always going to love this pub and share an interest in who runs it. I must say that Marilyn is one of the most personable,friendly and approachable landlady's a local village pub could ever dream for. She has put a lot of hard work into maintaining and upgrading the character of the building and it's surroundings.......believe me this is a job in its self !!

The food and beer is fantastic and the service is impeccable ! If you like live music as well - she does put on a great show occasionally.

Keep up the great work Marilyn, you were born to make people smile !

It's nice to see some friends from the White Heart now popping in to enjoy our company and then coming back for more. Bring on the Karaoke Nights as they are brill. Came in after the football after Sherfield beat Silchester 4 - 3 today. Great atmosphere. Maz is THE BEST. Had some great conversations with different groups in the pub. A warm welcome always awaits you at the Four Horseshoes pub. Maralyn, the landlady keeps a good range of real ales - London Pride, Spitfire and Courage Best which are realisticly priced and well kept. Excellent pub food is always available, with interesting changes on the menu. The old favourite dishes are home cooked. Clients range from local villagers to commuting outsiders which is a pleasurable blend of customers - Richard Froom

It is no secret that the pub industry in general, is going through difficult times, but Maralyn and her team continue to excel in offering a tremendous pub to wine and dine in a very friendly atmosphere. I lived in Sherfield for two years.....and the Four Horseshoes was the friendliest ‘home from home’ that I could possibly have hoped for. It is a place of social warmth and great beer! I could not have asked for any better. In fact....I have yet to find any replacement that comes anywhere near it now I have moved away. My hat off to Maralyn and her team.....irreplaceable! - Shane Tregear
